Jim Blair, JD, CSPG, serves as the Director of College Advancement at Diablo Valley College (DVC), where he leads the institution's fundraising and development efforts. In this role, he fosters collaborations between the business community of Contra Costa County and the students and faculty of DVC, enhancing educational opportunities and community engagement. He has served as a planning commissioner and on various local boards dedicated to improving the Contra Costa County community.​
Beyond his administrative duties, Jim contributes to the academic environment as a professor in the Business department at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. He began teaching the Business Law course that inspired him to attend law school when he was a student at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. His passion for teaching is reflected in his students' reviews on Rate My Professor, where he is described as "one of the most real, down-to-earth, funny professors at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ." Some students have even returned to hear his lectures again, eager to hear new stories he has to tell.

When not engaged in his professional endeavors, Jim is an avid scuba diver, exploring underwater worlds across the globe. His current favorite dives are in the submerged cave systems of the planet.
