Cats ... To be honest, although it seems like they are the queen of the house, you should be the one making the decision about your furry friend's welfare.
Cats (often like babies) don't know what's best for them.
Here is a list of some allergies that cats commonly have:
(NOTICE, NOT ALL CATS HAVE THE SAME ALLERGIES AND SOME CATS HAVE MORE ALLERGIES OR SOME HAVE LESS BUT THE ONES WE MENTION HERE ARE A BIG NO-NO)
1. Dairy products (Cow milk)
A shocker, huh? We've all grown up watching cartoons where cats drank milk but unlike that happy fantasy, cats can't drink milk(cow's milk) in real life. you can't just pour milk out of a carton into a bowl and give it to your cat because most cats are lactose-intolerant. The same for kittens but you can give them kitten-specified milk that won't hurt their tummies.
Mmmm.... Melts in your mouth, huh? well, despite being delicious chocolate can kill your cat! Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, both are absolutely very bad for your cat. If they eat even a little bit it could cause serious problems such as vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, rapid breathing, and in serious cases, where the cat eats a lot: comas and even death can happen.
3. Raw food
As I mentioned earlier, salmonella and E.coli are real and your cat can get them from eating raw meat or eggs.
4. Dog food
Cats are not dogs no matter what the evolution theory says. Cats need certain types of vitamins and such from their food, when they are fed dog food they lack the nutrients that they need and this can lead to skin conditions like a dull coat, muscle degeneration, vision problems, heart diseases, and liver and kidney problems.
5. Raw Bread and Yeast
The yeast or raw dough could rise in their stomach and (no, the cat won't explode and no, the cat won't become a balloon) cause some dangerous stomach issues.
The common allergies that are mentioned above apply to all cats, there are many more but I feel as though these are the most common ones...
