Wow! that was a mouthful. The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction or IDDRR is a day to promote a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction.


It is celebrated every year on 13th October.


This day celebrates how people and communities around the world are reducing their exposure to disasters and raising awareness about the importance of reining in the risks that they face.


Facts: - It began in 1989.

- Japan has the best disaster management system

- There is no such thing as a natural disaster, only natural hazards.


It is very important to reduce disasters. It not only does it effect the environment but it also effects humans.
